While we do not work with insurance providers, we are happy to provide a superbill with a diagnostic code that is suitable for reimbursement through insurance providers. We encourage you to check with your insurance provider to see whether they cover “out of network providers”.

When beginning therapy, weekly sessions are optimal. Therapy is most successful when it is consistent and a commitment is made by the client to the work on a weekly basis.

The short answer is, it depends. However, most therapeutic models (including couples counseling) regard short-term therapy as 12 to 24 sessions. However, individual’s needs are different and, for some, more time in therapy is beneficial. Therapy can take time and change takes time, but we aim to meet clients where they are and we do not insist on any particular duration. Clients evaluate their own needs and when they are ready to pause, spread out sessions or end therapy.
-
We recognize that not everybody can afford therapy and that everyone deserves access to good care. Therefore, each provider in our practice has a certain number of sliding scale appointments available in their practice for individuals or couples. We ask clients who are in need of sliding scale sessions to ask about this option in your initial contact with the provider of your choice.
-
Couples who benefit from couples therapy are committed to engaging with the process and committed to exploring new ways to communicate and manage conflict. Couples therapy is not appropriate in cases of domestic violence, ongoing affairs, active and persistent drug and alcohol abuse or if one partner is committed to ending the relationship.
-
In such cases, there is a real benefit to individual therapy. When clients are engaged with their own therapy, they can affect change in their lives, and their relationships.

Item descriptionThe process begins with choosing a therapist from our group and reaching out to them via our website, or email. They will follow up and schedule a brief phone call to hear more about what you are wanting to work on in therapy and to answer any questions you may have. They will also assess if they are a good fit for your needs and, if not, will refer you onto providers who are a better fit.
Once you decide to schedule with a provider, they will schedule an assessment session and find a regular, weekly time to meet. In the case of couples therapy, there is a brief phone call, followed by an assessment session with the couple, followed by an individual session for each member of the couple.
